Our tour commences at the ‘Inside the Burj Al Arab‘ building, situated across from the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. After a seamless check-in process, my family and I eagerly hopped into the buggy that took us to the hotel. We crossed the renowned bridge that links the Burj Al Arab island to the vibrant Jumeirah district. As the wheels rolled, we were treated to breathtaking vistas of the Arabian Sea, the captivating coastline, and the charming old villas dotting the Jumeirah neighbourhood. Once we reached the gate, we paused, and got the chance to have an unforgettable photo with Burj Al Arab as our backdrop. It was a nice start of the tour.
As we approached the entrance of the magnificent hotel, there was this feeling of excitement that swept me by surprised. Then as we stepped inside, a staff greeted us with a refreshing towel, soothing away the heat and humidity. As if that wasn’t enough, we were also given a delightful concoction of lemon and mint juice. It revitalized our senses and signalled the start of an extraordinary experience.
After that, our guide led us to the 21st floor. Inside the elevator we had a glimpse of the breathtaking panorama of the Arabian Sea, stretching out into the distance. It was as if time stood still, allowing us to appreciate the sheer beauty and vastness of the ocean.
Once we reached the place, we found ourselves immersed in a world of wonder and discovery. This floor showcased the history, and creation of the renowned 7th star hotel. The walls were adorned with captivating exhibits, revealing the fascinating stories behind the making of Dubai’s iconic landmark. From its humble beginnings to its rise as a symbol of architectural magnificence. At that time, I found myself gaining a deeper appreciation for the hotel’s significance and its importance to the history of the city I called “home”.
Next, we went into another room where an array of exhibits belonging to world-famous celebrities and athletes who had visited the hotel were displayed. One particular exhibit caught my attention—the tennis racket of none other than the legendary Roger Federer. It reminded me of that time when he played on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab. Surreal!
After that, we eagerly stepped into yet another room, where a delightful experience awaited us. The staff offers the traditional Arabic coffee and dates for the guests as they take a break in the lounge. As we sipped on this aromatic coffee served with sweet and juicy dates, our eyes were treated to a breathtaking sight. From the lounge’s vantage point, one can have a picturesque view of the sea and the old Jumeirah district (one of Dubai’s oldest fishing districts). This is also the best spot to take pictures of the city. So make sure not to skip this one!
The last part of the tour was a visit to the Royal Suite and it’s the epitome of the Inside Burj Al Arab Tour experience. This part of the tour is the most exciting part, and this is when you get to experience opulence and luxury beyond measure.
The lavish suite has two bedrooms, a library and a dining area fit for the VIPs and royalties. What I love most is the bathroom and the powder room. There’s also a beautiful staircase that separates the bedrooms of the two-floor suite. We went up to see each room and with each step, I felt we had been transported to a realm fit for kings and queens.
The treasures of the Royal Suite extend far beyond the bedroom walls. We also discovered a private cinema and an office which has a floor-to-ceiling window, with a view of the Arabian Sea. The panoramic sea view stole my breath away. Every corner of the suite truly whispers tales of opulence and refinement.
