Yes, why settle for the same old routine when you could spice things up with a dash of adventure? I’m talking about embarking on a road trip to Musandam, Oman, and then setting sail on a cruise around the Oman fjords. Intrigued? Here are some useful tips on how to make it happen!

We took the E611 route on our road trip to Musandam, passing through Ras Al Khaimah. The journey was straightforward, lasting approximately 2.5 hours. Along the way, we stopped at a petrol station just before the border, where we indulged in a delightful morning coffee. Upon reaching the border, we exited our vehicle to have our passports stamped. UAE residence visa holders do not require a visa prior for travel to Musandam. However, it’s crucial to ensure the validity of your car insurance when driving to Oman. If not possible beforehand, insurance can be purchased at the border. Despite a short queue, it took us around 30-40 minutes to complete the paperwork before crossing the border.

I’ve sailed around Musandam countless times, but on our last trip, we opted for an overnight yacht cruise with the kids. I witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets there, and afterward, we returned to the yacht. We enjoyed a brief movie session, watching a documentary about Oman, followed by a lavish dinner of fresh seafood caught by the staff from the sea. Our meal included soup, salad, grilled fish, and pasta. The highlight of the trip? Waking up to a tranquil sea view, enjoying breakfast as a pod of dolphins gracefully danced in the water.
