And with the rising cost of living, sometimes, you just think to stay home and watch a movie on Netflix. Here’s a solution to your dilemma. Did you know there are various pocket-friendly activities that you can actually do in Dubai, have fun with, and still not be ripped off? Yes, and I compiled 10 Dubai Activities under 40 AED. Most of them are free too. First and my favorite of all is taking a cruise around Bluewaters Island for merely 5 AED. This is an excellent way to admire the beauty of Dubai from the water, unwind and get some fresh air. The boat ride is about 25 minutes in an air-conditioned abra. There are other cruises that you can do in Dubai for only 5 AED such as the boat ride from Marina Mall to Marina Promenade or Dubai Creek Harbour to Festival City. You must use your NOL card or pay at an RTA kiosk. You can find all the information on RTA’s website.

Secondly, going for an evening jog at many public beaches in Dubai or having sunset picnics are also fab for the little ones. These activities are also great for sunbathing and having a quiet day at the beach. There are various free beaches and parks where you can also rent bikes, scooters, and paddle boats. Such as Kite Beach in the Jumeirah district or Barsha Pond Park. It’s perfect for families, sun-seekers, foodies, and even adrenalin junkies.

Another park that is yet undiscovered by many is the Expo 2020 park. It’s a lovely park with picnic tables, a state-of-the-art playground, toilets, and benches. There’s also a jogging path for sports enthusiasts. And the nicest thing about this park is the food and coffee trucks. So, you can just grab an iced coffee and have a short walk. The park is located at Expo 2020 Village and there is ample parking too.


Then there are the community water parks that are not only exciting for kids but are also the best way to beat the heat. For 40 AED or less, you can have a fab time in the pool without worrying that the entry ticket will break your bank. Also, these community splash parks are easy to get around with, if you don’t have a nanny in tow. It’s not massive so parents can join their kids or sit on the benches and just pause for a moment. The new Dubai Hills Splash park is ideal for everyone. Kids will love it and for adults, you can enjoy a dip in the wave pool!

Lastly, discover the Glasshouse! An indoor garden that is set in the middle of the Quranic Park in Al Khawaneej. If you love checking out trees and plants and want to have a coffee surrounded by them, then this one is for you. There’s a little cafe in the garden and a viewpoint platform great for insta-worthy pictures. Entry to the park is totally free! Lastly, check out the Burj Khalifa Park near Souk Al Bahar! You’ll love the views of Dubai’s skyline while having a cup of coffee at sunset. Plus, you can watch the fountain show! So, spend your weekend outdoors before the summer heat settles in.
