Top Beach Hotels in Ras Al Khaimah

We all need a beach getaway. There’s just something about the sea breeze, the sound of the waves, and sipping a cocktail on a lounger that makes us forget about life for a bit. A weekend getaway might not be on your radar, but it should be. Here I’ll introduce you to the top beach hotels in Ras Al Khaimah; what you can expect from hotels along the beach, and other things to do there.

Gazing across the luxurious Waldorf Astoria hotel from the beach.

Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah is a charming beachfront hotel with a picturesque view of the Arabian Sea. Its proximity to Dubai, just merely 50 minutes’ drive from Dubai International Airport, makes it an ideal out-of-town getaway!

It’s one of the top beach hotels in the country. Not only because of its powdery white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters but also the hotel offers its clientele a luxurious stay, superb customer service, and a feeling that you’d been whisked to a tropical island, away from the daily grind.

The interior design of the hotel takes you back to the centuries-old tradition of pearl diving in the UAE. Once you set foot in the foyer, you’ll be mesmerized by the bespoke artwork and collection of cultural artifacts. The grandeur of the reception, decorated by beautiful paintings and a 6-meter-tall grandfather clock makes you feel you just entered a palace in the UAE. The wall panels painted with the colors of the sea as well as the high ceilings adorned by spectacular chandeliers are an eye-catcher. And then there’s the marble water fountain placed in the middle of the lobby with a beautiful staircase leading up to the second floor. The scene is like a page torn from a fairy tale book. On the second level of the hotel, you can get a glimpse of the intricate but luxurious interior design of the hotel. Waldorf Astoria is truly a luxurious five-star beach resort surrounded by the turquoise water of the Arabian Sea. If you want to be treated like a queen, then this one’s for you.

Our weekend stay at Waldorf Astoria is one for the books. I must say that I had a great time in this hotel and this is one of the short weekend getaways that I received a lot of pampering!
The view of the King Grand Junior Suite at Waldorf Astoria hotel.

We stayed in a King Grand Junior Suite with a balcony overlooking the sea. There’s a lounge adorned with fluffy throw pillows and an oval office table. There’s also a separate, bespoke dressing room with beautifully designed wardrobe and a makeup table, you’ll definitely feel so regal. And at the end of the hallway, there’s a luxurious bath with amenities to pamper yourself. It’s a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s also jaw-droppingly good!

Moreover, we wined and dined at Qasr Al Bahar, an all-day dining restaurant that offers a buffet menu. I enjoyed all the scrumptious foods and loved the fact that there are also healthy options. Guess what? There’s a separate buffet table with kid-friendly food options as well as a little nook for them to read. So, it’s this little detail in the dining set that makes Waldorf Astoria quite family-friendly.

But what I can’t forget was our lovely al fresco breakfast. There were many options, and that includes a live egg station. Having breakfast on the beach is always an all-time favorite of mine. So, I was completely satisfied with the service. During the meal, we were surprised by some furry friends who entertained the little ones and the grown-ups too. We had the chance to meet a special cute owl and an enigmatic falcon. These well-trained and domesticated birds entertained the children while the parents enjoyed a hearty meal. Splendid!

After breakfast, we headed to the beach. It was very calm and quiet, and there were lots of beach games for the kids to try! There’s also a little hut with a slide where toddlers and pre-schoolers can play.

Impeccably gorgeous, yes, but this sandy white beach is not just all about good looks, it’s also surrounded by palm trees.

If you’re seeking a luxurious weekend getaway with family and friends or just want to be pampered while staying on a beach, the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah is all that you need. The food at the restaurant is scrumptious and offers an array of international choices for patrons. I must say that from the luxurious décor to the classic furniture that you can find in the lobby, their exquisite bathroom amenities, everything screams royalty! So, save this one for your future weekend getaway.

The facade of Movenpick Resort and Hotel in Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah.

The Movenpick Hotel is perfect for those seeking a laidback escape but surrounded by greeneries. Imagine gazing out across this green landscape and yet you’re literally in the Middle East! Movenpick beach resort is also on Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah, and is one of the newest hotels in the emirate.

It has recently opened its doors last June 2022. Movenpick is one of the top beach hotels in Ras Al Khaimah. Here’s why. This 5-star luxury resort has beachfront restaurants, an infinity pool for adults and the little ones, have a dedicated kids club with a full day of entertainment and activities. The hotel also offers adrenaline-fueled sports activities for everyone! Moreover, there are lots of hidden and beautiful spots for photography.

The rooms are designed to give you a sense of privacy and space. They have modern interiors that are both elegant and cozy at the same time. The highlight here would be their private sea view balconies where you can sit back and just relax while watching the waves splash against the shore below.
The seascape view from our family suite at Movenpick Hotel.

We went for a spring weekend getaway to Movenpick Hotel last month, and it was a relaxing one. I love the green spaces dotted with palm trees. The tropical atmosphere and surroundings truly took my breath away. But what I adored most in this resort is the sea-view family room. From our room, we could see the palm trees that lined this five-star hotel, the stunning coastline, and the azure blue waters of the Arabian Sea. The seascape is so relaxing to the eyes and waking up with this glimmering view of the sea and the sun… every morning was heavenly.

One of the best things I like about Movenpick Hotel is its restaurants. We dined at the Market, a beachfront all-day dining restaurant. It offers international cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We booked a full-board option, so all our meals were free during our stay. We enjoyed and loved all our meals there. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and I enjoyed it daily as there were many choices. From waffles, freshly baked croissants, and Asian-inspired breakfast to yogurts and fresh juices, you wouldn’t truly run out of options. And oh my, I could still remember the lunchtime smell, and it definitely brought so many “good food” memories.

We spent the whole two days, lounging on the pool, dipping our toes in the cold but hypnotic, blue-green waters of the Arabian Sea, and enjoying a movie night at the Kids’ club. The staff gave out free fresh popcorn for the children. It was a great night for the little ones. So, if you have small children, you can have some me-time. The kids’ club has professional staff who can take care of and entertain the kids while you get some tan.

And the fun never ended there. My kids enjoyed the outdoor activities organized by the team. They played musical chairs and had face painting. The hotel also set up a bouncy castle for all the kids to bring their energy to life. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon outdoors.

Movenpick is one of the top beach hotels in Ras Al Khaimah. So, if you’re searching for a more laid-back hotel with “Thailand” vibes then book a stay there.
