Sheraton JBR with Kids: Great Views and a Sneak Peek into Living in Dubai
A stay that feels like home. Yes, staying at Sheraton JBR with your kids offers stunning views, delicious food, and maybe even a sneak peek into everyday life in Dubai. We were there for a 3-day staycation, but I couldn’t help wondering—what if this was our daily life? In a way, it already was. Back when we lived in JLT, JBR was our weekend escape. We’d stroll over during the cooler months for beach days, laid-back brunches, and evening walks under the glow of Ain Dubai.
Spending time here with kids gave us a fresh perspective: this wasn’t just a holiday — it felt like a preview of life in one of Dubai’s most family-friendly beach front communities. And though I live in another community now, I’d like to share my honest opinion not only of this hotel but the surrounding area.
JBR is not just a touristic hotspot, it’s a well-known residential neighborhood in Dubai. Many expats who decide to relocate here often choose Jumeirah Beach Residences as their starting point. Why? It’s incredibly convenient for transportation, walkable, packed with lifestyle options, and gives you a real sense of what day-to-day living in Dubai feels like. So, if you’re visiting Dubai and curious about what it’s like to actually live here especially with kids, staying at Sheraton Hotel in JBR is a smart way to get a feel for the neighborhood before making the big move.
First Impressions: Laid-Back Luxury by the Beach
The lobby at Sheraton gives off relaxed, upscale Dubai vibes. It’s elegant without being too formal or stiff. The staff were genuinely warm, helpful, and super attentive, especially with kids in tow. It makes a huge difference for families traveling to Dubai to have this kind of hospitality. It’s the kind of place where families feel right at home, but it still works perfectly for couples or solo travellers looking for a stylish beachfront hotel. The best part? You literally walk out of the hotel and straight onto JBR Beach. I also loved the pool.
It has direct views of Ain Dubai, and from my room, I could see it glowing at night. That view hits different. It’s that dreamy and gave me that only-in-Dubai feeling. It reminds you why people fall in love with this city when they visit and settle back for good.
Seaview Suite: Perfect Family Escape for Ultimate Relaxation
We stayed in the Executive Suite featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that offered the most breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea and the iconic Dubai Observatory Wheel (Ain Dubai). Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a curated cheese and crackers platter, the perfect touch to enjoy and soak in the sunset views over Dubai’s skyline.

The Sea View Suite was perfect for a family of four — featuring a king-sized bed, a comfortable sofa bed, and complimentary access to the Club Lounge. But what truly stole our hearts was the incredible scenery. From sunrise to sunset, the breathtaking vista and boats gliding by created a calming rhythm. This serene atmosphere, paired with the elegant, white-themed interiors, made our stay feel absolutely heavenly.
Night Swim with Ain Dubai Views
We checked in on a friday afternoon so after enjoying the view with cheese on hand, we went to the pool. The pool wasn’t that big, but it was great for evening dips. There were floaties for everyone to use. But these are only available from 12 PM onwards. We got to use the floaties the next day.
In the pool, there’s a swim-up bar where you can sip cocktails without ever leaving the water. Just a few meters away, the beach awaits. For the little ones, there’s a small playground, and for teens and adults, a billiard table adds to the fun.

Dining at Sheraton JBR as a Guest: Breakfast & Dinner Included – Is It Worth It?
When you book a hotel stay, the first thing that comes to mind is usually the breakfast, right? As a morning person, I totally get that. But if you’re a night owl, a satisfying dinner is just as important. That’s where half board really shines—covering both ends of the day.
We chose the half board option (breakfast and dinner included)and honestly, it worked perfectly for our mixed routines. It’s the ideal setup for both early birds and late-night foodies.
The international restaurant hosts themed dinner nights, and during our stay, we were lucky to catch seafood night. It was a scrumptious dinner. The star of the show? The freshly grilled lobsters, served straight to our table by the chef himself. It felt like a mini fine-dining moment within a buffet!

We started with classic appetizers like prawn cocktails and a rich, creamy seafood bisque, followed by hearty seafood paella that brought coastal vibes to the plate. There was also a generous spread of fresh salads, artisan cheeses, and crunchy crackers to balance things out. And of course, dessert didn’t disappoint. My kids were thrilled with the ice cream bar and eye-popping cake lollipops that ended the night on a sweet note.
Breakfast is a feast of choices. It’s perfect for fuelling up before a beach day. Think freshly baked breads with all the spreads, vibrant cold cuts, and a colourful lineup of healthy, freshly pressed juices. Craving something hot? There’s a live egg station where your omelette, scramble, or sunny-side-up is made just how you like it. You’ll also find cereals, waffles, pancakes, oatmeal, and lighter bites for a balanced start. We left the table full, happy, and ready to hit the pool with big vacation energy!
Dining at the Beach JBR
If you’re not going for the half-board or all-inclusive package, no worries—JBR Beach Mall is just a 5-minute walk from the Sheraton. It’s packed with dining options, from American favorites like P.F. Chang’s, The Cheesecake Factory, and the popular Montreal-based diner Eggspectation, to a mix of Arabic, Indian, and Asian restaurants. Perfect for switching things up without going far.
Why stay at Sheraton JBR if you’re curious about living in Dubai?
This beach resort offers the perfect mix of resort-style comfort and real-city vibes. From here, you can stroll through the Marina, home to many expats and families. Or hop on the tram and metro to explore areas like Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), where work-life balance plays out daily. Sheraton JBR gives you a front-row seat to Dubai’s lifestyle, all while enjoying luxury amenities and stunning beach views, without ever leaving the city’s heart.
