First things first, how to get to Bluewaters Island when you’re in Dubai?
There are two easy ways to reach Bluewaters Island using public transport. Aside from the obvious part of taking a taxi or hiring a car rental to go there.
Option 1: Metro + Tram + Short Walk
Hop on the Red Line Metro going towards Expo. Then get off at Sobha station. From there, switch to the Dubai Tram and get off at JBR 1 or 2. Enjoy a scenic 10-minute walk across the iconic pedestrian bridge connecting JBR Beach to Bluewaters Island, with stunning views of Ain Dubai and the Dubai Marina skyline.
This route works if you’re coming from Dubai Mall or Downtown. Just grab a Nol Card to pay for the metro and tram. The total journey takes about 1 hour.
Option 2: Metro + Bus (Less Walking)
Alternatively, take the Red Line Metro to Sobha Realty Metro Station, then transfer to Bus F57, which drops you right at Bluewaters Island. Both options are affordable, efficient, and a great way to see Dubai on the go!
Dining in Bluewaters Island with Families and Friends
Now, if you’re a foodie, you’re in for a treat! Bluewaters Island is packed with restaurants serving all kinds of delicious cuisines. Whether you’re craving a juicy McDonald’s burger, a cup of speciality coffee at the Bakerist or prefer to go to a gourmet dining spots like Blue Door, Bluewaters has something for everyone.
My last dining experience in Bluewaters Island was something I couldn’t forget. I checked out the newest restaurant in Delano Dubai with stunning alfresco set-up and a view of Dubai Eye.
Delano Dubai is a luxurious beach resort and hotel on Bluewaters Island. It’s the perfect spot for upscale dining and unwinding by the sea. Its private beach offers one of the best views of Dubai’s iconic skyline. So, I booked a table for two at Blue Door Restaurant, known for its seafood cuisine inspired by the Mediterranean and Anatolian coasts.

Blue Door Delano has a relaxed vibe. We first entered through a green maze-like entrance with a chessboard pavement, and then we were ushered into the garden. We were completely amazed by the vibe and the surroundings—it felt as if we were somewhere in the Mediterranean. We were seated at a table beside a tree, which added to the serene atmosphere. From afar, the view of the world’s tallest Ferris wheel was astounding.
We tried their Ramadan Iftar, and I was instantly taken by the warm service and enchanting ambiance. The traditional mezze felt like a journey, an inviting spread of cold and hot starters that delighted the senses. Spicy dips, crisp salads, and vibrant veggie dishes filled the table, but it was the cool cucumber and yogurt mix reminiscent of Greek tzatziki—that truly stole my heart. Paired with savory tomato-based dips, marinated olives, and warm, freshly baked bread, every bite felt like a comforting embrace.

At the end of dinner, we went for a walk—and that truly made my night. The scenic pathway led us to the beach, where Dubai’s skyline and Ain Dubai shimmered beautifully under the night sky.

Stretch in Style: Luxe Pilates Classes Launch at Delano Dubai on Bluewaters Island
I also experienced Pilates at HWH, Delano Dubai, and I can say it not only helped me de-stress but also left me feeling refreshed and renewed. Located on the ground floor, HWH Studio Dubai is a luxury yoga and Pilates club. I tried Mat Pilates and genuinely had a great time. Afterwards, I took a walk along the beach and felt a deep sense of peace and accomplishment. The soft light glittering on the water and that cool breeze on my face felt like a gentle reminder to slow down and just breathe.

Family-Friendly Activities- Play Area in Bluewaters
One of the best parts about this urban island retreat is how family-friendly it is. Kids can enjoy watching the boats cruise gently, while walking across the bridge that links JBR Beach to the island. They can grab an ice cream and look up as paragliders glide overhead. These moments are perfect during the cooler months or in the evenings. When it’s too hot and humidity gets too intense, little adventurers can dash into Treehouse.
Treehouse is an all-ages play zone. They can jump around at the trampoline park or team up for an epic laser tag showdown. And when hunger pangs settle in, the Hive food court nestled inside the play area offers a variety of cuisines to satisfy every craving. Parents can unwind with specialty coffees and refreshing drinks.
Scenic Walks
One of the most enjoyable and picturesque activities on the island is taking a scenic walk. This iconic waterfront spot features a boardwalk where you can wander, watch boats sail past, and simply take it all in. The boardwalk also includes a bridge linking it to JBR Beach, giving you easy access to the beach and the vibrant open-air mall at JBR.
But here’s a tip that not all visitors and tourist in Dubai know…. You can actually take a short boat ride from Marina Mall to Bluewaters Island.
You can enjoy a scenic 20-minute boat ride between Dubai Marina Mall Marine Transport Station and Bluewaters Marine Transport Station, soaking up waterfront views as you glide past JBR Beach, gleaming skyrise towers, and buzzing yacht clubs. As you draw near Bluewaters Harbor, luxury yachts, traditional dhows and darting jet-skis frame the perfect photo-op.
